So how do my prices stack up against the “other guys?” Well, the best way to find out is to compare. I dropped by GeekSquad‘s website, as they’re the big name in town for computer maintenance and repair. Here’s just a few comparisons based on their prices.

The Geek vs. The Squad

Generally, GeekSquad charges high, flat-rate fees, and does not work with the customers and clients on a situational basis. That’s where I’m different.

Honest Prices and Honest Work

I work with you every step of the way on both time and cost. If I know something will take 5 hours, but only because 4 of those hours are loading screens or scans, I might tell you before-hand that I’ll be charging for only one hour’s work, or even give you a flat-rate fee instead.

Not only that, but I’ll work with you on almost any budget. Let’s say, for example, you wanted a website built. I might ask you before-hand what your goals AND budgets are. Why? Because I am usually able to find an appropriate route to get you the website you need based on said budget. Should I build the website from scratch, or use a pre-made content management system and modify it to your specifications? Knowing your budget will allow me to decide the best way to get you the website you’ve always wanted.

How do our prices compare to Yippie?

I recently found another computer repair business, Yippie, that seems like a popular choice in the area, so I decided to do a price comparison there too. It’s a bit harder to gauge prices though, as some had to be added up, such as the PC tune-up and anti-virus cleaning. They also charge a $99.99 diagnostics fee, something we do not.

The Bottom Line

As you can tell, my prices are pretty reasonable and very competitive, but more importantly, I know that every client is different, and every situation is different. I’ll work with you personally to figure out what your options are, and how your specific problem can be solved.

Update: A Few More…

Here’s a few more that I’ve added since this page was first created:

Fee Disclaimer

While some computer techs charge hefty diagnostics fees, (some as much as $99-129, just to look at your PC!) I work differently. The only added fee you’ll find is a $15 drive fee for home visits (to offset gas costs) and a 1-hour minimum. Business users in Salinas aren’t even charged the $15 visit fee!
