TEDxYouth@Monterey

I’m happy to announce that after speaking with Bob Cole, co-organizer of TEDxYouth@Monterey, I’ll be working to support the event with their design, hosting, and as a local sponsor.  The event’s focus this year will be “Cultivating the Future” and will be held on Universal Children’s Day, November 19-20th, 2011.

TEDxYouth@Monterey Website, Designed by AlisalTech

TEDx was created in the spirit of TED’s mission, “ideas worth spreading.” The program is designed to give communities, organizations and individuals the opportunity to stimulate dialogue through TED-like experiences at the local level.

At TEDx events, unique talks given by live speakers combine with TEDTalks videos to spark deep conversation and connections. TEDx events are fully planned and coordinated independently, on a community-by-community basis.

I look forward to working with Mr. Cole and TEDxYouth@Monterey. You can find out more about the event at their official website, here.

2011 Price Changes

It’s a new year, and I’ve learned a lot after my first year in business. I’ll be rolling out a ton of new services, advertising, and other various changes throughout the next few months. The first of which, is a minor price change based on what I have learned and the current economy. Many of our changes also have to do with simplicity and ease of payment.

For example, one of our most popular services costs $65. When paying with cash, it’s more convenient to pay $60 (three $20′s) than $65 (three $20′s and a $5.) So we simply took out the $5. It’s not much, but it’s a simple change that makes things a bit easier for everyone, and any time I can make things easier for my clients, I do.

New Price Changes

  • Computer Tune-up and Virus, Malware, Spyware, and Adware Removal – Originally $65, now $60. (Currently on special for $50!)
  • IT Consulting – Originally $30-65/h, now $30-60/h.
  • Wireless Network Setup – Originally $50, now $40.
  • New Computer Setup – Originally $50, now $40.
  • Technology Training – Originally $30-65/h, now $20-60/h.

What about variable services?

As you may know, we do offer a lot of “variably priced services” such as search engine optimization, marketing, web design and development, graphic design, hosting, etc. While I can’t list a set discount, I will be applying discounts to these services as well, or offering extra services for the same price, depending on the situation. Have questions about a certain variably priced service? Feel free to contact me. I’d be happy to quote you on any services you might need.

So how do we measure up now?

I have always been one of the most inexpensive IT service providers in the Salinas area, and these price changes will hopefully cement that position. In the past, I had done a comparison to other popular IT service providers, such as Geek Squad and Yippie. According to their websites, we are still the most inexpensive IT service provider in the area. Sometimes by more than 50%. It doesn’t get much better than that. :)

What can I do for you?

Recently, I realized that there would be no way for me to create a “Services” page that goes over everything I can do. Even looking at my past few clients, a lot of what I have done for them isn’t even mentioned on the site. So that brings me to wonder, what kind of IT services do YOU need? I can go on and on about random services I can provide, but that all means nothing if it’s not what you’re looking for.

If you need IT services of any kind, send me an email at Mike@AlisalTech.com, or use the “Contact Me” page to get in touch. I would love to hear from you, and who knows, maybe I can help, or give you some advice and point you in the right direction!

Keyword Based SEO

So I think it’s time I make this an official service. I’ve been doing SEO for myself and my clients for a long time now. I’ve learned the ins-and-outs of how Google rankings work, and have watched their algorithms change and evolve over the years.

What is Keyword Based SEO?

Basically, it’s when you choose a specific set of keywords that you want to rank highly for. For example, if you sell cars in Salinas, you might want to rank highly for “Salinas Car Dealership”. If your website sells “Used Cell Phones,” then that might be good phrase to look in to. You want to pick a term that people would search for to find and benefit from your site, once you (or me, after some research) find the right keywords, I work my magic behind the scenes to make sure your site comes up for that term.

I Get Results

In my experience, I have been able to get clients to the first page in Google for most keywords in just a few weeks. Yes, as Google firmly states, it’s true that no SEO Professional can guarantee a certain ranking. However, with the right amount of research and experience, you can trust that I’ll do my absolute best to get you some great results. My most recent client has gone from not ranking at all (or 1,000+) on a target key-phrase, to ranking #1 on Google. All within about 4 months. However, I have seen results go from page 10, to page 1 in less than a week with my services.

In fact, in its first week, this page hit the #1 spot in Google for “Keyword Based SEO”. Here’s a screenshot from December 22, 2010.

Interested?

If you’re interested in working with me, I would be happy to check out your target key-phrases and keywords and get you an estimate on my services. I work on a variety of different types of payment plans, including monthly payment plans to get you to the top, and keep you there. Feel free to contact me any time.

For the next week or so, I’ll be holding a complete PC cleanup sale that will include not only the removal of viruses, malware, adware, and spyware, but also rogue start-up and background programs that slow down your computer system. If you suspect your PC is infected or isn’t running up to speed, you can contact me for a complete cleanup.

Normally, the price for the cleanup would be $65, but for the next week (and possibly longer depending on how successful the sale is,) I’ll be charging a flat-rate fee of $50 for the full cleanup.

I’ll meet you to pick up your computer system, clean up the machine back at the office, and meet you at the same place the next day. Contact me today to schedule a cleanup!
